White Dove Classic Car Show 2011.
As this show was a later start, we met at the Meadows, Camberley for a 9.30am leave in convoy of six cars
On arrival we were directed to the 'non pre booked' field which was located very close to the main 'booked'
area where we set up camp! Attending camp today were, Jayne & Jim MK1 1.6 GT BAD-CCC Dave JBA Javelin (1/2 Capri),
Sharon 280, Phil 3.0L Ghia, Alec & Brigitte 2.8i and John with his highly tuned 1.6 Angle Box!
On display were many cars not seen before at other shows and a vast display of motorbikes,
trykes and sidecars.
A nice old Granny in the guise of a cop car (with spotties & fogs),
a special selection of American with a pink caddy for Jayne and an assortment of just nice minty cars!
This white 2.8i Capri was interesting in as much as it shouldn't exist! It is a non standard/non optional extra,
auto with Vinyl roof! The current owner does not know who did the conversion.
Although the weather was kind to us (what no rain) we were unfortunate enough to be parked behind the
'French Connection' with their very patriotic display of 2 CV's. They had a loop of French music bellowing
from the back of one of these THINGS which didn't let up all day. Brigitte was humming the tunes by the end
of the day but the award is given to Alec who tried to out blast them with his own selection from his ipod! |
And finally............ The car chosen to be run over by goes to one of the major sponsors of the Hospice charity, the Thorne-Leggett Ford Hearse.
They are very fortunate to sponsor such an appropriate charity and lets face it they would only have to scrape you off the floor and chuck you in the back, how convenient?!! |
